Talk by the Renowned Latvian Writer Mrs. Nora Ikstena & Buffet Lunch
The Tokyo Women's Club was honored to be invited by H.E. Mrs. Dace TREIJA-MASĪ, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia.
It was a great opportunity to hear the talk by the renowned Latvian writer, Mrs. Nora Ikstena. She read her newest best-selling novel "Soviet Milk" and talked about her novels and life, which was also an opportunity to know about Latvia. She kindly showed a Latvian traditional hat and shawl. She is so warm-hearted that we have become a fan of hers.
We very much appreciate the warm welcome Ambassador Dace TREIJA-MASĪ extended to us. We also enjoyed Latvian food and herbal liquor called Black Balsam which is strong but healthful.
We look forward to reading Nora's novel "Soviet Milk" whose reprinting for English version is in progress and whose translation for Japanese version is also in progress.
