Christmas Luncheon with Jazz by Mr. Takashi Matsunaga
At the beginning of December Meeting, the Donation Ceremony was held. The Tokyo Women's Club presented donations to able Society and SDGs Promise Japan. We were honored to have addresses of each representative, Mrs. Mutsuko Kenmochi for Mrs. Yasuko Konoe from able Society and Mrs. Rieko Suzuki from SDGs Promise Japan.
The ceremony was followed by Jazz Concert. Mr. Takashi Matsunaga, whose piano has amazed people in the world since he made his debut at the age of 17 and who is the youngest artist to record a leader album for the renowned Blue Note label in its 80-year history by breaking the record of Miles Davis, played jazz standard numbers, original ones including "Special Olympics Japan Theme," and Christmas Medley on the piano.
H.E. Lady Tania Laumanulupe FUSITU'A, Ambassador of Tonga,
proposed a toast for our Christmas Luncheon.
We were also pleased to welcome H.E. Mrs. Martha ZELAYANDIA, Ambassador of El Salvador, H.E. Mrs. Dace TREIJA-MASĪ, Ambassador of Latvia, H.E. Mrs. Ndiyoi MUTITI, Ambassador of Zambia, Mrs. Selma MUNYAMA, Chargés d'affaires ad interim of Namibia, Mme. Amira Bencherif, spouse of Ambassador of Algeria, Mme. Manya Kostova, spouse of Ambassador of Bulgaria, Mme. Ilda Esteves, spouse of Ambassador of Portugal, and Mme. Yumi Katsura, top fashion designer. There were 89 attendees in all.
